Originally from northwest New Jersey, Debra did her undergraduate studies at Cook College, Rutgers University and William Patterson University and received her master’s degree from Eastern Mennonite University. She is married with two adult children and is a member of Grace Church, where she has been involved in the music ministry and youth ministry for many years. Debra loves to read. She is a trained classical musician, an avid mountain biker, hiker, and kayaker. She and her husband also enjoy motorcycling and traveling. It is her deepest desire to awaken curiosity in her students and to help them to understand science, not as a compartmentalized discipline, but as a way to understand how all things are interconnected and exemplary of the complexity of God, our creator.
