Mrs. Kathy Kusiak, is the 4th grade teacher, and part of the Education Committee at Faith Christian School. Her teaching career spans over 26 years. She has been married to David for 40 wonderful years, and has one married son named Benjamin, a patent attorney/patent examiner for the USPTO in Virginia. Kathy and her husband attend Promised Land Church of the Nazarene in Bethlehem. Kathy was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, but now resides in Bethlehem. For fun, she loves watching videos, playing board games, and going for scenic drives. I love turtles and everything green. (The principal calls her classroom “The Emerald City”.) She feels so blessed to be a part of the Faith Christian School Family!
Kathy attended Liberty Baptist College (now Liberty University) in Virginia for three years, and finished her undergraduate education at United Wesleyan College, graduating with a B.S. in Elementary Education (K-8). She completed the Teacher Certification Program from Moravian College. Kathy has her PA State Professional Certification, ACSI Standard Certification, and an Online Professional Endorsement through East Stroudsburg University. She is continually pursuing professional educational development.
Kathy has a strong passion for education, and believes that by integrating academic lessons with Biblical truths, she can teach her students that ALL things are relative through Christ. Kathy’s greatest desire is that they would find and develop a personal relationship with the Savior. Kathy’s favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Kathy strives to create a classroom environment of excellent academic standards, with active learners who work independently and cooperatively, who think critically, and creatively solve problems. She wants her classroom to be a fun, yet challenging place, where it is okay to make mistakes, a place where students never say, “I can’t do that”, but instead to say, “I can’t do that YET!”
