What are your College or Post High School Plans:
After High School, I plan on joining the Marines and becoming a JAG officer.
What do you love about Faith Christian School?
At Faith Christian School, I love that everyone is so close and like family. I like that we have opportunities to experience things that other schools don’t get to, and while at school we are able worship the Lord and learn more about Him. I love that we get to learn in a safe environment with teachers and classmates that have the same beliefs.
What was one of your favorite activities, trips, or events at FCS?
One of my favorite activities at FCS was definitely the team building field trip at Mount Gilead. So many fun and funny memories were made from this field trip, that I never think I will forget.
Describe one of your favorite teachers and tell why he/she is a favorite.
Picking just one of my favorite teachers is hard, but I would say Mr. DeLorme is at the top for sure. Mr. DeLorme is so kindhearted and understanding. When I need to rant about something or let something out, I know he’s the one to go to. Something I really admire about Mr. DeLorme is how successful and how hardworking he is, yet he is so young and still has so much to go through. Mr. DeLorme knows how to make his class chill, but still beneficial. When I am in need of advice or just curious about something, I always go to him because he relates to us so easily. One of my favorite things about Mr. DeLorme is that he laughs at my jokes and creates a fun environment in his classroom.
In what ways have you grown in your faith as a result of your experience at Faith Christian School?
I would say that I have grown in my faith tremendously as a result of my experience at Faith Christian School. When I first came to the school, I didn’t have much Bible knowledge and didn’t have a strong relationship with God. I had come from a public school filled with darkness and people who didn’t really know who Jesus was. When I came to FCS I clicked with my classmates who brought me to a popular youth group called “the venue.” From there I really got to feel the presence of the Lord, find a new home church, and later got baptized. At the school itself, I was able to learn how to defend my faith, beliefs, how to respond to certain situations as a Christian, and how to interpret and apply the word to my life. I would not be on fire for Jesus or be firm in my faith today, if I didn’t have the teachers and friends that I had in school.
The mission of Faith Christian School is to provide a unique Christ-centered education that instills character based on biblical principles and develops academic excellence for the purpose of preparing young people to serve and impact the world for Jesus Christ. How has Faith Christian School fulfilled its mission in your experiences?
I feel like Faith Christian School has fulfilled its mission to provide a unique Christ centered education that instills character based on biblical principles. Throughout the school year and with sports I feel having Christian character is definitely a focus. Students have the opportunity to earn awards based on character, which I have gotten the pleasure of earning one, the Daniel award. I feel like I have developed certain character traits that I didn’t have before when I first came to the school. I also think the school has fulfilled its mission to develop academic excellence for the purpose of preparing young people to serve and impact the world for Jesus Christ. Unquestionably, I feel like the school has prepared and encouraged me to share the Gospel with others and impact the world for Jesus.
How do you feel that FCS prepared you for graduation, college/career and life?
I feel like FCS has made me prepared for graduation, college/career and life, by teaching me how to handle my finances, which will definitely be beneficial because I will be paying bills for the rest of my life. But most importantly I feel like FCS has prepared me for the brutal world and the hardships I will face as Christian.
What opportunities did you experience at FCS that you don’t think you would have gotten to experience anywhere else?
I got to experience opportunities at FCS that I know for sure I would not have been able to experience anywhere else. Just to name a few, I got to make books from the Bible that get sent to kids and people that don’t have them, go on team building field trips, trips where we serve the Lord, weekly Chapels, participate in operation Christmas Child, worship God while in school, lead a Bible study, a food and hot chocolate bar from the PTF, Chick Fil A for lunch, have a whole Christmas breakfast party where we watch movies, and a great prom.
What would you say to a prospective student considering joining Faith Christian School?
If a prospective student were to consider joining Faith Christian School, I would tell them to go for it. I honestly wish I had come to the school earlier, but I am super grateful for the time that I had here. Obviously, it’s not for everyone, but if they enjoy having fun, want to develop close friendships, have unique opportunities- while learning about the Lord, then this school is for them. Overall, 10/10 recommended.
