Giving Tuesday 2024 Project–“Mr. Joe’s New Ride” $7,000: FCS would like to purchase a road legal Utility Task Vehicle for our awesome custodial and maintenance man Mr. Joe Smith. With the addition of our new Lower Elementary building, Faith’s classrooms are now spread across a one block radius on three sides of our playground.

Mr. Joe is getting his 20,000 steps in each day! Here are a few things that Mr. Joe does in a day:

• Vacuums or sweeps classroom floors in 3 buildings –everyday
• Gathers trash from all the building and carries it to the dumpster–everyday
• Wipes germs and finger prints off doors and windows –everyday
• Fixes anything that breaks down in the school–something breaks–everyday
  • leaky sinks
  • clogged toilets
  • burnt out light bulbs
  • broken doors, windows, equipment…
• Delivers cases a paper for printers to all three building with a hand cart
• Salts and shovels snow when needed
• Cleans up after students that get sick at school
• And SO MUCH MORE…

A Utility Task Vehicle would help lighten Mr. Joe’s work load by allowing him to:

• Ride to each building multiple times a day
• Keep a tool box in his vehicle so does not need to go back to his work shop for tools
• Help to transport heavy items to places
  • large bags of trash
  • cases of copy paper, toilet paper and paper towels
  • large tools
  • his backpack vacuum
  • bags of salt and shovels in the winter
