SCIENCE – Living things, animals, human body, earth, space, matter, energy and motion.
SOCIAL STUDIES – Communities (old and new), Famous Americans, careers, starting the colonies, funding freedom, starting a country, and farming.
LANGUAGE – Grammar, punctuation and writing skills.
SPELLING – Sound, structure and meaning of words, dictionary skills, thinking activities, and learning strategies.

SOCIAL STUDIES – The New Nation, map skills, charts and graphs; Community: building, history, work and governments; Many cultures, one country: literature, art and celebrations.
